Burberry Flagship Store

Located on Manhattan’s 57th Street, the Burberry Flagship Store spans 24,000 square feet and serves as the brand’s largest global retail location.  Designed to reflect the elegance and heritage of the fashion house, the façade features a modern interpretation of Burberry’s signature plaid, achieved through a combination of natural stone, glass, and metal.

StoneLite® panels in Massangis Roche Jaune and St. Mark limestone were glazed directly into the curtain wall system, creating an asymmetric stone and transparent glass façade intersected by a fretwork of rolled, burnished metal.  According to PR Newswire, “The asymmetric stone and transparent glass façade transversed with a fretwork of rolled, burnished metal references the renowned Burberry plaid.”

Coldspring was chosen for the project because our StoneLite panels have been proven to withstand the test of time.  For Burberry, a brand founded in 1856 and built on longevity, this was essential.  The Chief Executive of Burberry described the construction of the flagship store as “a significant milestone in Burberry’s growth strategy,” underscoring the importance of a high-quality, lasting finish.

StoneLite was a natural fit for the demands of luxury retail, offering the look of dimensional stone with the benefits of lightweight construction and fast installation, a critical factor in New York City’s high-traffic, schedule-driven environment.  With durability tested against hurricanes, earthquakes, and the elements of urban life, StoneLite continues to help brands like Burberry build with beauty and confidence.
