Cold Spring Granite is now Coldspring
COLD SPRING GRANITE CHANGES NAME
Cold Spring, Minn. – (April 15, 2013)
–– After more than 115
years of operation, 89 of them as Cold Spring Granite, the company best known
for its granite used in commercial and residential building products,
memorialization and quarry materials, has announced a name change. All Cold
Spring Granite divisions and brands will now exist under a single masterbrand:
“We have been well known as a granite company
for a long time, even though we have been much more than a granite company for
many years. Significant parts of our business are devoted to the manufacturing
and distribution of bronze memorials and signage, diamond tools, cemetery building consulting and construction services, and other materials including marble, limestone, sandstone and composites that
are specific to very specialized applications. A unified Coldspring masterbrand
will allow us to streamline and create efficiencies to better serve customers
and provide broader market acceptance as we seek to innovate, grow, and
diversify in both our critical core businesses and in new strategic directions”
said John Mattke, President, Chief Operating Officer of Coldspring.
The name Coldspring
was selected because it has positive and broad recognition in the markets the
company serves and is an easy connection to existing products and services, so
it should provide a logical and smooth transition for most customers.
“Rather than creating
separate and distinct brand names for each of our businesses, we believe it is
important for people to recognize the strength, stability and innovative nature
of the company as a whole,” said Mattke.
The company chose Coldspring
as one word with its accompanying logo to distinguish it from its community of
origin and any other products that may carry the two word Cold Spring name. “As one Coldspring we will make it easier to
understand our brand, our offerings and the resources we bring to the table as
we seek to create extraordinary customer experiences,” said Mattke.
